Autumn has settled in, and with it throngs of mini-me retail therapy you’ve been busy with. You’ve taken them for indoor toys, back-to-school supplies, backpacks, teacher gifts and, of course, back-to-school clothes. And now, it’s your turn to shop. Since any lingering spells of near-summer temps are likely gone, it’s time to address your autumn into—dare we say it—winter closet.

Not as giddy as we are that it’s time to pull out tucked away sweaters, accessorize with scarves and switch out sandals for full-coverage boots? No worries, we got you. Here, 5 fashion trends that are the perfect fit for mom who’s on point but still got a job to do. Whether that’s at mommy-and-me, drop-off and PTA meetings or packing lunches and then packing in business meetings. So grab a pumpkin spice latte if you need to get in the mood, and read on.

Go for Utility Pants

Extra pockets are always a good idea–especially when they are conveniently located right on your side and on trend. The good news is that cargo and utility pants have been making a comeback so there are lots of looks to choose from that are the perfect fit for moms. With this style, though, keep it simple and polished. Look for fun fall fashion fabrics and remember that a few pockets to stash an extra snack, pack of wipes or even your cell for hands-free playtime is clever and chic. Too many pockets or detailing is clownlike.

Carry an Oversized Tote

Well, if this is the biggest and best idea. With a few mini bags inside to organize by child, by activity, by necessity, there is still room to carry your goods. With this fall fashion trend, take on a laptop, gym clothes and a sleek water bottle too. Don’t forget your wallet, cell and keys—and to switch shoulders every so often.

Embrace Vintage Styles

If you’re a fan of thrifting, then hit those second-hand stores. If you’re a hoarder (or said more nicely, just hang on to everything in case it comes back), then with this fall fashion trend it’s time to shine. Vintage or retro pieces that can be leveled up by mixing old with new (or different decades together) is all the rage. Some things to search in the back of your closet (or thrift and current stores) include: oversized blazers, high-waisted boyfriend jeans and low-waisted jeans, velour track suits, miniskirts, sweater vests, cropped sweaters and bedazzled logo shirts.

Ease up with Minimal looks

This fall fashion trend is almost as easy as throwing on a college T-shirt and throwing your hair in a whatever pony—almost. With a bit more finesse you can rock the minimalist look that

rocked the 90s and make it a modern effortless style. Pair some of your favorite pieces like graphic tees or white tanks with denim and maxi skirts and layer with leather or jean jackets.

Pull on Those Boots

We don’t deny the comfort of white sneaks or how cute they look with a bevy of ’fits. Still boots of any and every style we are seeing for fall fashion trends. And who doesn’t love the idea of looking cute while keeping toes cozy at the park or on the soccer sidelines? Season’s best look and function—height from a chunky heel not stiletto. Comfy and easier-to-keep-up-with-little-ones in lug soles anyway.
